Last year, the number of working enterprises in agriculture, forestry, and fishing decreased from 51,800 to 35,600 (-31.4%). This is the largest decrease since 2012, significantly exceeding similar economic indicators.
It is noted that the number of enterprises engaged in crop production – the cultivation of annual and biennial crops – decreased in 2022 from 40,600 to 28,000 (-31.2%), the cultivation of perennial crops – from 1,600 to 1,100 (-31.1%), animal husbandry from 3,700 to 2,600 (-28.9%), and mixed agriculture – from 988 to 616 units (-37.7%).
Among the sub-sectors, the number of rice-growing enterprises decreased by 73.3%, of which only eight remain. The cultivation of cotton crops increased by 52.4% (10 enterprises), and the cultivation of grapes by 37.4%. The number of horse breeding enterprises (-16.5%), tobacco cultivation (-20%, 8 operating enterprises), and the cultivation of spices, aromatic, and medicinal crops (-24.6%) decreased the least.
