The US will supply Ukraine with a long-range, GPS-guided Bomb.

Although the Pentagon has not officially confirmed this information, the $1.85B aid package announced on December 21 states that the US will provide Ukraine with “precision aviation munitions.” At the same time, Bloomberg sources confirmed that these will be extended-range JDAMs, known as JDAM-ERs. This weapon can be attached to unguided bombs. After being fired the bomb unfolds its wings, which allows it to fly up to 70 km and triples the range of the original weapon.  On January 20, Boeing received a $40.5M order for JDAMs from the US Air Force and according to the contract will be completed by June 30. This means that the US and Ukraine have found a way for Ukraine’s Soviet-era fighter jets to launch the JDAM-ER. Long-range JDAMs are among the new weapons the Pentagon announced the US will send to Ukraine this month.
