The US Ministry of Defense signed a contract with Raytheon Missiles & Defense for the manufacture of NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems worth $182M. According to Raytheon Technologies, the work is scheduled to be completed by August 23, 2024. “Ukraine will join a dozen other countries around the world that rely on NASAMS to defend against a variety of threats, including cruise missiles, aircraft, and unmanned systems,” Raytheon said. NASAMS systems are produced by a consortium of the American corporation Raytheon Technologies and the Norwegian group Kongsberg. Raytheon is responsible for supplying the AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles for this system, and Kongsberg is providing the launchers.
