The US State Department has reduced the travel risks to nine regions of Ukraine, opening up new business opportunities.

As stated in the updated travel recommendations on US State Department’s website, the highest, fourth-level recommendation applies to all of Ukraine – do not travel to Ukraine at all because of the war. However, some regions are assigned lower risk due to air defense capabilities and distance from active hostilities. These are the Volyn, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr regions.

As noted by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the US, Oksana Markarova, reducing the threat level significantly facilitates visits to Ukraine by representatives of businesses, organizations, and institutions.

“Together with the administration’s recent lifting of the de facto ban on American defense contractors from conducting work in Ukraine, this opens up great opportunities for the development of new business opportunities directly on the territory of Ukraine,” she noted.
