The US Senate passed a temporary funding bill, the Washington Post reports. Among other things, the draft law offers Ukraine a package of assistance in its fight against Russian forces for more than $12B. In particular, $3B is provided for military aid, including training, equipment, weapons, and logistical support. Another $1.5B is earmarked to replenish stocks of American equipment provided to Ukraine or foreign countries that have provided support and $2.8B for the continuation of military, intelligence, and other defensive support. In early September, US President Joe Biden asked Congress to provide an additional $11.7B to finance aid Ukrainian aid.
