It also includes money for humanitarian aid in war-torn regions and defense operations in the Red Sea and Taiwan. The main difference in this document is a $13B increase in border protection funding. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that a vote is scheduled for February 7.
Assistance to Ukraine will be directed as such:
- $14B– for the purchase of new weapons from American companies
- $15B — military training for Ukraine’s Armed Forces, exchange of intelligence, etc.
- $20B — to replenish military stocks in the US
- $8B — for direct budgetary support of Ukraine, in addition to financing pensions

However, there are a few lawmakers who oppose the bill. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, said, “If the bill reaches the House of Representatives, it will be already dead.”
