The US has suspended the admission of migrants, and Ukraine is preparing for its refugees to return from the European Union.

The US Department of Homeland Security has suspended programs that allowed migrants to temporarily settle in the US, in particular a key initiative that provides entry for Ukrainians. The Uniting for Ukraine program, launched under the presidency of Joe Biden, provides Ukrainian refugees with permission to live and work in the US for two years from the moment of their arrival. As of September 2023, more than 150,000 Ukrainians have entered the US under this program.

In the meantime, Ukraine is working on the return of its migrants, and the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland plan to create special centers that will help Ukrainian refugees return home. As part of these efforts, Ukraine has also created the Agency of National Unity of Ukraine, which will help implement initiatives to interact with the Ukrainian community and public organizations in countries that host Ukrainian refugees.

In addition, the  Agency will promote employment in Ukraine through remote interviews and projects that support the Ukrainian defense industry, energy production, and other key economic sectors.
