The US has almost no funds left to help Ukraine.

John F. Kirby is as Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House.

About 96% of the security, economic, and humanitarian aid that the US has allocated to Ukraine (more than $60B) has already been used, said strategic communications coordinator of the US National Security Council John Kirby.

He called on the US Congress to approve a request for additional aid to Ukraine. Over 90% of these funds were used for security assistance to Ukraine. “The Ministry of Defense has approximately $1.1B to replenish stocks before winter,” he emphasized.

The US official noted that despite the smaller-than-expected gains during the counteroffensive, the administration of US President Joe Biden is confident that the Armed Forces will be able to regain its territory. “The Ukrainians will be the first to tell you that they are not advancing and have not advanced in this counteroffensive as much as they would like,” Kirby said.

He also stressed the need to continue providing security assistance to Ukraine so that Ukrainian forces can advance before the weather worsens.
