The US Congress will consider an extension of the Lend-Lease Act for Ukraine.

Here is how $61.4B in US aid would be spent.

The US is looking for alternatives and is preparing to allocate $200M from Pentagon reserves to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, said that this week Congress should also consider amendments to the defense budget for 2024, including those related to lend-lease program for Ukraine. She added that the task for the Ukrainian delegation is to have the US approve a budget to support Ukraine for the entire next year.

“We will be grateful for the help, and we hope that within the next two weeks, both parties will find a compromise and approve a package that will consist of military aid, direct budget support, humanitarian aid, and energy aid,” emphasized the ambassador.

She added that, in parallel with this, work continues to provide Ukraine with specific types of weapons, expanding the sanctions, and confiscating Russian assets for Ukraine’s benefit.

“Also, the US will discuss further extension of the Lend-Lease Act for 2024”, Markarova said.
