The White House is confident in Kyiv’s success in reclaiming the Ukrainian lands captured by Russia. Therefore, the US is determined to continue providing maximum support to Ukraine to facilitate success on the battlefield, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
He talked about a new package of political and practical assistance to Ukraine, the announcement of which can be expected at the July NATO summit in Vilnius. At the same time, Blinken suggested that Ukraine’s success on the battlefield could force the Russian President to start negotiations on ending the war.
According to US officials, the US plans to provide Ukraine with an additional $325M in military aid. This transfer of weapons will take place within the framework of the Presidential Drawdown Authority program, which allows the president to authorize the transfer of equipment from the US stockpile without the congressional approval. The package will likely include Stryker and Bradley fighting vehicles and ammunition for NASAMS and HIMARS.
