The Ukrainian authorities want to start a new program with the International Monetary Fund in the first quarter of this year. It will consist of two parts: immediate financial support during the war, and the post-war reconstruction program, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. He clarified that the program will be designed for a four-year duration, and its total budget is over $15B. The main goal is financial support for Ukraine and the consolidation of the G7 countries’ efforts to help Ukraine over the next five years. The funds are allocated for financing the budget deficit and financing recovery, development, and Ukrainian reform programs. The head of the government noted that the distribution schedule is still being discussed.
