Polish carriers have announced their intention to block the border beginning on November 3. They intend to go on strike and block checkpoints at the Ukrainian border until the end of 2023 due to excessive competition after the liberalization of international transport between Ukraine and EU countries.
If earlier these plans were limited to one checkpoint, now they plan to block all existing entrances from Ukraine for two months. It is noted that the first meeting of the participants has already been agreed with the local authorities near the Korchov checkpoint at 10 a.m. on November 3.
Polish carriers are demanding:
- return permits to Ukrainian carriers
- prohibit Ukrainian companies from registering if the company’s finances are not in the EU
- a separate queue in the E-queue for cars with EU license plates
- a separate queue at all borders for empty vans
- access to the Shlyakh Path system
- strengthened transport rules for foreign carriers according to ECMT
