Thanks to the sea corridor secured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukraine has already managed to export more goods than it did in the same amount of time within the framework of the Grain Agreement signed jointly with the UN, Russia, and Turkey.
Since August 2023, more than 660 ships have already left the ports of Odesa, transporting about 20 million tons of cargo to 32 countries worldwide.
Under the UN-guaranteed agreement, Ukraine shipped about 19 million tons from three ports during the same period.
Ukraine exported the most goods via the new route in December – 6.8 million tons. The highest export figure within the grain agreement was 4.2 million tons in October 2022.
Within the framework of the international agreement, Ukraine had the right to export only agricultural products, but now, the country is able to export various types of goods. About 33% of export positions via the sea route are occupied by Ukrainian metallurgy products. Ukraine exports 2.5–3 million tons of ore and metal per month.
