The transit of Russian oil through Ukraine increased by 37%, exceeding one million tons.

The transit of Russian oil through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba oil pipeline in September increased by 37% to 1.06 million tons. According to analysts, except for record volumes in July, the transit of Russian oil in September was the largest since January of this year.

Most Russian oil went to Slovakia in September – almost a half million tons, the same amount as in August. At the same time, the volume supplied to Hungary increased by 110% to 0.37 million tons. The Czech Republic received another 0.19 million tons of oil (+100% until August). In total, for nine months of the year, Ukraine transported about 8.05 million tons of Russian crude to three European countries. Hungary received 3.39 million tons or 42% of the total transit, Slovakia – 2.91 million tons (36%), and the Czech Republic – 1.75 million tons (22%).

Russian Lukoil, whose products are prohibited from being imported into Ukraine, reached an agreement with Hungarian oil company MOL to sell oil at the border and transport it through Ukraine.
