The profits earned by Ukrainian large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 49.7% in the first half of 2024 compared to the corresponding period last year, to ₴619.6B, the State Statistics Service reports. Enterprise losses increased by 10.6% annually to ₴128.4B.
The financial result before taxation from large and medium-sized enterprises was positive and amounted to ₴491.2B (for January-June 2023, it was also positive with ₴298B). The share of unprofitable enterprises in the first half of the year was 25.7% (January-June 2023 – 25.5%).
The highest profit growth before taxation in the first half of the year (January-June 2023) was recorded in agriculture, fishing, and forestry – 502%, education – 498%, professional, scientific, and technical activities – 369%, construction – 103%. The largest increases in loss were recorded in art, sports, entertainment, and recreation – 951%, temporary accommodation and catering – 179%, and information and telecommunications – 89%.
