During a Ramstein meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany with the participation of President Zelenskyy, leaders of the capability coalitions approved eight roadmaps of support for Ukraine until 2027. The countries plan to work closely with Ukraine, determine future needs for armed support, provide military aid packages, assist in procurement, and invest in expanding the military-industrial complex.
At the meeting, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a new military assistance package worth about $500M, which consists of additional missiles for Ukrainian air defense, small arms, ammunition, and equipment for Ukrainian F-16s.
In addition, Norway and its partners also provided NOK 700M (€59.56M) to purchase drones for Ukraine.
In turn, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized the importance of continuing the Ramstein Contact Group’s operation.
During the meeting, President Zelenskyy called on the allies to consider France’s initiative to deploy a foreign contingent in Ukraine, as this will become a tool to coerce Russia into peace.
