In the first two months of the year, Cherkasy Azot, part of the Ostchem nitrogen holding, produced 235,000 tons of mineral fertilizers. This is 23% more compared to the same period last year when 191,700 tons of mineral fertilizers were produced. In February 2023, production was 123,700 tons, a record monthly figure since the beginning of the war.

Urea became the key product, thanks to which the company demonstrated an increase in production volumes. In two months, production volumes increased by 196%, from 22,800 tons in 2022 to 67,400 tons.

Also, the production volume of the urea-ammonia mixture increased by almost 10% from 50,900 to 56,200 tons.

On the other hand, the production volume of ammonium nitrate remained at the same level (-2%), 102,200 tons. As the company explains, there was a significant decline in farmer demand, but in January-February, it increased significantly.
