The President of the EU Council wants to admit Ukraine to the bloc as soon as possible.

The EU continues working on a €50B multi-year plan of Ukrainian support,

European Council President Charles Michel gives a press conference.

According to Charles Michel, the country can become a member of the EU in 2030 if both parties fulfill their obligations.

“Ukraine and other candidate countries must carry out reforms, effectively fight corruption, and fulfill requirements for the modernization of legislation,” he stressed, adding that the EU must speed up its decision-making processes.

According to the politician, this will not be an easy process, but time cannot be wasted. He also said that a successful and safe Ukraine is in the European interests, and this was proven by its resistance against Russia.

According to Politico, the European Union is preparing to start negotiations with Ukraine regarding its future accession to the bloc, with an official announcement expected in December. In November, the EC should publish a progress report detailing how well Ukraine and other membership candidates are fulfilling the bloc’s conditions to join.
