The Polish business community is outraged by the import ban on Ukrainian agricultural products.

Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria are asking for relief of the problem of the Ukrainian agricultural product surplus.

The influx of grains, oilseeds, eggs

The statement from the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce emphasizes that the Polish authorities introduced the ban without consulting the business community. This decision poses problems for both Ukrainian and Polish businesses. Concerned parties have asked authorities to reconsider their decision and urgently begin consultations with the business and social care communities.

Chamber President Jacek Piehota explained that this decision affects Polish entrepreneurs who import products and export to other markets.

For example, honey is imported from Ukraine and is one of the products specified in the resolution. The imported Ukrainian honey volume to the EU in 2020 was 54,800 tons and 53,800 tons in 2021.

Also, Polish businesses are concerned about the ban on imported soybeans because there is currently a shortage in the Polish market.
