The Pentagon weapons for Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden said that his country will continue to supply Ukraine with the weapons it needs to fight Russia “as long as necessary”. The Pentagon is using a series of shortened contracting procedures to replenish both American  and Ukrainian forces’ weapon stocks. As Ukraine pushes for ever larger and more sophisticated weapons, the US risks depleting its stockpile of some land-based weapons it may need if it suddenly has to defend or assist Taiwan, it said. While the US has focused money and production on stealth fighter jets, AI-augmented goggles, and hypersonic weapons, Ukraine wants artillery shells, tanks, and shoulder-fired missiles to repel Russian ground assaults. So far, the US has given Ukraine one million 155-mm artillery shells, 180,000 105-mm artillery shells, more than 8,500 Javelin anti-tank missiles, and 4,200 high-precision 155-mm artillery shells.
