The NBU proposes an additional import duty on non-critical categories of imports.

The National Bank of Ukraine offers, in addition to the resumption of import taxation, to introduce an additional import duty on non-critical imports, said Deputy Chairman of the NBU Yuri Geletiy. According to him, these steps will provide additional revenue to the state budget and support Ukrainian producers. It will also reduce the pressure on the foreign exchange market. At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the NBU, Serhiy Nikolaychuk, added that the system of critical imports worked well in the first months of the war when it allowed limiting the demand for currency in certain areas.
