MHP Agroholding will acquire 100% of corporate rights in a Ukrainian meat processing company for €14M and has already made an initial payment of €3.5M, entitling it to 24.9% of the relevant corporate rights. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2024, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, including approval by relevant regulatory authorities.
Previously, antimonopoly authorities in Albania and Ukraine allowed the Slovenian poultry producer Perutnina Ptuj, which is part of MHP, and the Albanian Balfin Group to create a joint venture, Perutnina Ptuj Albania. As part of the deal, it will acquire several local companies.
Note that MHP is the leading chicken producer in Ukraine, with control of more than 55% of the market, and one of the main poultry exporters to the EU. The group’s production capacity is concentrated in Ukraine, and it also has enterprises in Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
