The IMF will soon announce a four-year program for Ukraine worth $15.6B.

Managing Director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal

The sum is between $14B and $16B, reports the FT. The publication’s source says an announcement about the program will be made in a few days. The IMF is under pressure to provide a more comprehensive aid package to the country, which has been economically devastated by the full-scale Russian invasion. In a statement, the IMF confirmed that talks between IMF staff and Ukrainian authorities have been productive, and excellent progress had been made on a set of policies that could underpin the program. Given this progress, IMF staff and Ukrainian authorities expect to conclude discussions in the coming days.
