Ukraine is completing the implementation of the seven recommendations from the European Commission, which will allow the launch of the next integration steps, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. He also noted that in parallel with the work on the legislation, Ukrainian authorities will prepare for direct negotiations regarding the accession itself. “First, Ukraine’s negotiating position will be formed, which will determine the strengths, compromise limits, and how EU accession will affect specific economic sectors and the state in general. Then, Ukrainian negotiation teams will be formed, which will provide the foundation for opening official accession negotiations. After that, negotiations will commence, culminating in the signing of the Agreement on Ukraine’s Accession to the EU. We expect to complete this journey in less than two years,” Shmyhal emphasized.
