Considering gas consumption by power plants, Ukraine will have enough resources for the upcoming winter season, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko assured the public. According to him, Ukraine has agreements in place that provide the possibility of importing gas “in the necessary volume, if the system needs it.”
Last week, Naftogaz recalled that Ukraine used 6.7 billion cubic meters of gas from underground storage in the previous heating season and confirmed the consumption figures are expected to be the same this season. State companies have already started using natural gas from underground storage with the start of the heating season in most cities.
As for the electricity situation, DTEK believes that going through the winter without planned outages will be possible if energy facilities can be protected from attacks by anti-aircraft defense.
In turn, Ukrenergo noted that as of November, there are no grounds for introducing restrictions on the population’s electricity consumption. The company works with the Department of Energy, local authorities, and energy companies to avoid limits in electricity supply.
