During a summit of transport ministers from G7 countries in Japan, the ministers agreed to intensify international efforts to develop the EU’s Paths of Solidarity program. The program is designed to assist with the creation of the Danube port cluster, border infrastructure with the EU and Moldova, etc.
The G7 transport ministers further emphasized the importance of the Grain Initiative’s stable operation and the development of sustainable transport links between Europe and Asia that bypass Russia. Special attention will be paid to developing the Middle Corridor and the Central Trans-Caspian transport network.
According to the Minister of Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, because of the full-scale war Ukraine’s trade volume has decreased by 50% from 234 million tons in 2021 to 131 million tons in the first year of the war, 2022. In addition, the load on the western land borders has increased significantly due to Russian sabotage of the Grain Initiative and the seaport blockade.
