At the International Energy Council meeting, the EC announced the provision of €25.5M to Ukraine to immediately respond to Russian energy terrorism. A high-level International Energy Advisory Council was created under the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. Their work aims to support and help Ukrainian energy companies overcome the challenges and threats posed by Russia’s energy terrorism. European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson emphasized that the EU and other international partners, in addition to the equipment they continue to supply to Ukraine, will provide €25.5M to cover the most urgent needs. In addition, the EU will direct €13M to restore the laboratories at the Chornobyl NPP damaged by the Russian occupiers and another €3.5M through the IAEA to support the Ukrainian nuclear industry.
