By the end of the year, the EU will provide Ukraine with half a million rounds of ammunition, and in 2024 it will deliver the promised million shells, a high-ranking European official told journalists. He also confirmed that there would be a “slight delay” in providing the million rounds of artillery ammunition. The official also noted that the EU is privately working with other partners to obtain some projectiles from other countries.
Meanwhile, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre reported that $1B remains in the US budget, from which aid is allocated to Ukraine. This is the budget under which the Pentagon buys new weapons and equipment from American manufacturers to replace what the US sends Ukraine.
The country has already used 96% of the funds to replenish American stocks, and the remaining 4% will be used this month.
