The European Union, which after the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine introduced a most favorable regime for trade with Ukraine, plans to continue this policy from the beginning of 2023, said Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis. Dombrovskis noted that at the beginning of 2022, the EU terminated all tariffs and protective measures in its trade with Ukraine. This led to a significant increase in Ukrainian exports to the EU. Therefore, the EC is will propose the extension of this initiative in early 2023. At the same time, according to Dombrovskis, the EU is accelerating work on a bilateral agreement that will allow Ukraine and the EU to export industrial goods to each other’s markets freely. “We are working on an ambitious review of priority actions under the plan for 2023-2024 to speed up the full implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area,” the EC representative added.
