The EU launches Digital transformation for Ukraine (DT4UA) and allocates €17.4M in aid.

The program’s main task is to help Ukraine introduce efficient, accessible, and safe public services and respond quickly to the challenges of war. According to the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, despite the war Ukraine is demonstrating one of the world’s most dynamic processes of digital transformation. And the EU has to ensure the continuous development of digital services in Ukraine. The EU has identified four funding directions:

  1. development of digital services and the Diia application,
  2. improvement of data exchange between registries and state institutions,
  3. development of electronic identification infrastructure following the eIDAS regulation,
  4. development of an electronic management system that will allow transparent consideration of criminal cases.

The EU has been supporting Ukraine’s digital transformation since 2016 with a total budget of over €51M.
