The ambassadors of the EU have agreed on the 13th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. It will be officially approved on February 24, the second anniversary of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

EC President Ursula von der Leyen revealed some details, noting that this package will reduce the Russian Federation’s access to drones. The restrictions will affect individuals and companies engaged in producing weapons and supplying key technologies used by Russian defense companies.

According to the FT, the new package of sanctions against Russia is the first to target Chinese and Indian companies accused of supporting Moscow’s war effort.

EU officials are also discussing a further package of sanctions in response to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalnyy.

In addition, Russia’s ability to produce large quantities of weapons is putting pressure on G7 members to step up their efforts to combat sanctions evasion.

Also, the EU left Russia on its blacklist of offshore companies.
