In two weeks, the European Commission will submit an emergency action plan in the event of the interruption and/or complete termination of Russian gas supplies. The plan will find ways to provide gas to the most vulnerable countries and sections of the population stated Ursula von der Leyen. To eliminate dependence on Russian fossil fuels, the European Commission has presented the RePower EU package, which has three components. The first involves the diversification of supplies from Russia in favor of more reliable and trustworthy suppliers. The second is increasing energy efficiency, which is a very powerful tool. The third is massive investment in renewable energy sources, which involves investing up to €300B in implementing the European Green Course.
