The EU is developing a legal basis for the confiscation of Russian assets.

The European Union is developing legislation allowing the seizure of sanctioned Russian assets and using them for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, said Ursula von der Leyen. She added that the conference in Lugano, Switzerland, was very successful, as different approaches were proposed for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. The development of legislation for the legal confiscation of Russian assets in the European Union was also confirmed by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. “No option can be ruled out. All possible ways and sources for the reconstruction of Ukraine must be considered,” Metsola said
