The European Commission presented its eighth package of sanctions against Russia, which will include a ban on importing Russian products, worth €7B per year, and introducing a legal basis for limiting Russian oil prices. According to Ursula von der Leyen, the new sanctions package provides for the introduction of additional bans on the provision of services to the Russian Federation by European companies, as well as a ban on EU citizens joining the management bodies of Russian state-owned companies. In addition, the sanctions list against individuals and legal entities involved in the Russian aggression will be expanded. The EU will additionally limit the export of high-tech products that can be used in military applications for the Russian army.
