The new measures include a ban on the transshipment of Russian liquefied natural gas and a plan to hold EU operators responsible for sanctions violations by their subsidiaries and partners in third countries.
It is noted that this package of sanctions against Russia targets the military-industrial complex, financial services, energy sector, sanctions evasion, and war crimes, in particular, persons involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands gave information that the package contains several necessary measures, including firm opposition to the Russian shadow fleet of tankers and introduces sanctions against it. As a result, the shadow fleet may be deprived of access to European ports and services.
It is noteworthy that three tankers that have come under sanction from Great Britain on June 13 gathered in the Baltic Sea (the NS Laguna, Robon, and Ocean AMZ). Two of them are preparing to load oil in Russian ports.
