Ukraine received €4.2B for implementing nine indicators in the second quarter of 2024, which were provided by the Plan of Ukraine within the framework of the Ukraine Facility. The tranche consists of €2.7B in preferential credit financing and a grant of €1.5B. The funds will be used for current social expenditures in the state budget. In total, this year Ukraine expects to receive €16B in support from the EU, of which €3B will be in grant aid.

Ukraine plans to fulfill nine more indicators during the third quarter, allowing it to receive €4B in November (including €1.5B in grant funding). The indicators planned for the third quarter include approving a comprehensive Demographic Development Strategy until 2040, increasing the number of employees in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, and amendments to the State Regional Development Strategy for 2021-2027.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the total volume of direct budget support from the EU has reached €38B.
