On the eve of the Ukraine-EU summit, the Council of the European Union adopted aid measures within the European Peace Fund (EPF) framework, providing further military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is the seventh €500M tranche of the €45M has been allocated to support the training efforts of the EU Mission (EUMAM Ukraine). The purpose of the new assistance measure in support of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, which is undergoing training within the framework of EUMAM Ukraine, is to provide the necessary non-lethal equipment and materials, as well as services to support training activities, the EU Council explained. The seventh package will increase the total EU contribution to Ukraine under the EMF to €3.6B.
