European Council President Charles Michel said at the third summit of the Crimean Platform. He emphasized that the EU stands by Ukrainians in their battle for freedom.
“Russia’s brutal attacks on Ukrainian ports are designed to spread hunger worldwide. Therefore, we approve of Ukraine’s efforts to find new ways to export grain, with the involvement of Turkey. The EU supports your attempts to enter new markets”.
Michel added that last year, Ukraine received prospects for a European future, and now everyone is sure it is not a question of whether Ukraine will be a member of the EU, it’s more a matter of when it will happen. Currently, preparations are underway for the start of accession negotiations.
According to the President of the European Council, the EU supports Ukraine through its sanctions regime and will continue to provide strong support and better meet Ukraine’s humanitarian needs.
