said the Ambassador of the EU to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova. She added that Ukraine needs to maintain its pace of reform, which is not always linear. At the same time, Mathernova warned that the terms will also be determined by the institutional and political changes that must take place in the EU because, without changes in the voting and decision-making system, the number of EU members cannot expand indefinitely.

Mathernova also met with the heads of Ukraine’s key anti-corruption institutions, NABU head Semen Krivonos and head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Oleksandr Klymenko, and assured them that the EU would continue its assistance and support.

“It is crucial to prioritize further reforms for institutional solidity and procedural autonomy of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and to improve legislation to speed up anti-corruption investigations,” the ambassador noted.
