The energy regulator has increased the attractiveness of Ukrainian gas storage facilities for European customers.

Ukraine aims to increase the volume of European gas storage to four billion cubic meters and earn ₴70B through the transit of Russian oil.

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy (NCRECP), which administers state regulation in the fields of energy and communal services, approved several changes to the Gas Storage Code and the Model Storage Agreement. Customers can order gas storage capacity for the basic pumping season and the basic selection season separately and for several months in a single year of storage.

In addition, the NCRECP has eliminated natural gas injection/withdrawal curves. Instead, the practice of providing access to gas storage facilities through capacity allocation with the right to store/inject/withdraw the same amount of gas during each gas day for the corresponding capacity allocation period has been introduced.

These changes will increase storage facility income for Ukraine without raising tariffs.
