During a visit to Kyiv, President of the EIB Nadia Calvino said: “We have signed important agreements with both the government and key Ukrainian banks to mobilize up to €1B in investment, covering public and private investments.” According to the bank, four projects worth €420M have been signed under the Ukraine Facility program:
- €100M for the Ukraine Recovery III project
- €100M for the Ukraine Water Supply Restoration project
- €100M for the District Heating Project of Ukraine (funds for these projects will be channeled through Ukreximbank)
- a €120M loan to support and restore Ukrhydroenergo
€500M will be provided to support small and medium-sized enterprises. This assistance combines a €100M loan and guarantees aimed at unlocking an additional €400M for SME lending through several Ukrainian banks, including Ukreximbank, ProCredit Bank, and Ukrgasbank.
The EIB has also signed a €16.5M grant from the German government with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development to promote renewable energy.
