The Czech Republic allocated 22 million Czech crowns (over $1M) to train Ukrainian transport pilots to fly cargo planes. In the first stage, 20-25 students from the National Aviation University in Kyiv will be selected. The training will be financed by the humanitarian, stabilization, reconstruction, and economic aid program to Ukraine.

The project’s goal is to provide Ukrainian civilian pilots with the necessary training, which is currently impossible to do in Ukraine and to support the restoration of civil aviation in the country.

Minister of Transport of France Clément Beaune said that Ukraine is working to resume civil flights and open its airspace. He noted that Ukrainian pilots and controllers are already undergoing training on simulators in France to be able to immediately begin work as soon as the airspace is fully or partially opened.
