The countries of the Weimar Triangle have pledged to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression and in its integration into the EU and NATO.

The foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Poland said: “Faced with an unprecedented deterioration of the security environment in Europe due to the Russian Federation’s full-scale war against Ukraine, we confirm our unwavering determination to support Ukraine in protecting its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and in repelling Russian aggression”.

They added that providing Ukraine with timely, predictable, and sustainable military support is critical, particularly through the European Peace Fund, the EU Military Assistance Mission, the coalition of forces and assets, and direct bilateral aid from member states.

The ministers called for the adoption of the 13th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation and undertaking the fight against the evasion of sanctions. The ministers are also convinced that the future of Ukraine lies in NATO.

In addition, the three countries will work together to invest in Ukraine’s future, including through possible joint reconstruction projects.
