During the first nine months of 2024, Ukraine exported 48.9 million tons of agricultural products worth $10.5B. The volume farm product exports for the year increased by 9.9 million tons, or by $1.4B. This growth is primarily related to the restoration of maritime transportation. 89% of the total volume of exported agricultural products was carried out by sea. At the same time, on land exporters prefer rail transport, and only 2% of these exports are moved by road transport.
The key exported agricultural products are grain crops – 42.3 million tons totaling $7.1B, seeds and fruits of oil plants – five million tons, and $2.2B. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has exported $1.98B of agricultural products to Turkey and would like to deepen cooperation in agro-processing.
Ukraine also purchased and imported 978,800 tons of farm products worth $1.7B. Fruits and nuts make up almost half of imports – 468,000 tons, followed by vegetables – 194,200 tons.
