Carrying several dozen scientists and more than 20 crew members, the ship is expected to go to Vernadskiy at the end of this year – the Antarctic summer. The icebreaker operates normally in an ice layer up to 1.5 meters thick and can move through ice up to 4 meters thick in extreme conditions.
