The Federal Council of Switzerland has approved a financing plan that extends to 2036 for Ukraine’s recovery in the amount of ₣5B ($5.5B). The plan must still be approved by the country’s parliament. Ukraine will receive the first tranche of ₣1.5B by 2028.
Switzerland already supports projects in Ukraine aimed at restoring destroyed civil infrastructure in the energy, road, and health sectors. The country has already spent about ₣3B to support people affected by the war in Ukraine. About ₣425M of this amount came from the international cooperation budget, and the rest (about ₣2.5B) was spent by the State Secretariat for Migration on the reception and support of refugees.
Meanwhile, the Duchy of Luxembourg allocated €50M for “large-scale projects” to restore communities in the Kryvyi Rih district. The key directions are the agricultural sector, road repair, and ecological restoration.
