Spain has sent a new batch of military assistance to Ukraine, which includes 10 refurbished Leopard 2A4 tanks, various excavators, and anti-tank missiles. With this shipment, the total number of tanks that Spain has transferred to Ukraine now reaches 20. The next batch is planned to be transferred in the second half of 2024.
Meanwhile, German government spokesperson Steffen Hebeschreit noted that Germany does not plan to participate in the transfer of combat aircraft to Ukraine, as it does not have F-16s in service and does not consider calls to transfer other aircraft to be practical due to the differences in operating the fighter jets. However, Germany fully supports the transfer of F-16s by Denmark, the Netherlands, and others and primarily works to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
Also, the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Gaël Veyssière, said that France strictly adheres to its obligations regarding military support to Ukraine within the framework of the security agreement, in particular regarding the transfer of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft.
