South Korea is increasing its aid to Ukraine to $150M.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol made the corresponding announcement following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. Korea plans to allocate funds for the infrastructure restoration, entrepreneurial assistance, and the reconstruction of the education system.

Comprehensive public and private sector support worth $52B is expected for Ukraine’s reconstruction projects. It is noted that Ukraine has submitted a requests from Korean companies to participate in approximately 5,000 construction projects that collectively total $20B.

The government also plans to provide technical assistance for the restoration of water systems infrastructure, complementing the humanitarian assistance that has already been provided following the destruction of the Kakhovka dam. Special support will also be extended to the private sector-led reconstruction project, currently valued at approximately $32B.
