According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, there will be no quick end to the war that the Russian Federation started against Ukraine. Therefore, he urged the international community to be prepared because even when the war ends everything will not normalize immediately.
At the same time, he emphasized that “there is no need to stop efforts to end the war” and “a prerequisite for the establishment of peace is Russia’s withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine”.
Furthermore, the chancellor emphasized that this war will have long-term consequences that will keep the EU and the world in tension, after which it will take a long time to “rake out the debris”.
