On the night of June 10, Russia launched one of its largest attacks on Ukraine using strike drones, with the Kyiv and Odesa regions being hit hardest.
President Zelenskyy said that one of the most extensive strikes on Kyiv happened at night, resulting in one death and four injuries. In total, Russia sent out 315 strike UAVs and simulator drones, as well as seven missiles, aimed at Ukraine. In Kyiv, the bombardment damaged a significant national monument, St. Sophia Cathedral, and several residential buildings.
In Odesa, two men were killed, and around 10 others sustained injuries in the attack. Additionally, residential buildings, a maternity hospital, an emergency medical service station, a blood transfusion center, a zoo, a railway station, and the Odesa film studio sustained damage.
“Russian strikes are louder than the efforts of the US and others in the world to force Russia to peace. It is important that the response to such strikes is not the world’s silence, but concrete actions,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
It is noteworthy that despite the recent rise in attack frequency, Ukrainian air defense was still able to shot down over 80% of the drones and approximately 80% of missiles that were launched.
